Once a conventional darkroom veteran, he is now exclusively digital and thoroughly reveling in what he calls the “three freedoms":

  • Freedom of expression
  • Freedom from the dark
  • Freedom from chemicals
Currently John serves as Program Chairman for the Great Neck Camera Club and is a member of the Photo Artists' Network (PHAN). Other credits include: Past President of the Port Washington Camera Club;Past Vice President of the Photographic Federation of Long Island; Former P.F.L.I. judge and lecturer.

A passionate devotee of the genre for over 37 years, John’s background is perhaps as diverse as it gets.

For 11 seasons he worked as a sideline photographer for the N. Y. Giants. He also indulged in freelance stints for the Mets, Islanders, Cosmos, and the N.Y. Racing Association.

He was the subject of a Tom Maguire Sunday Newsday feature story in the late ‘70s.

John added wedding photography to his resume in the ‘80s.

He enjoys producing unconventional images rich in color and as far from his past “structured” photographic environment as possible.
